My primary therapeutic intent is to create a safe, open, engaging narrative space whereby clients can explore, edit and rewrite the stories of their lives.

Carol Huber

Psychologist, MA

I am a registered psychologist who provides individual, adult clients with counselling that focuses on helping them navigate the life cycle challenges and transitions they experience. With decades of life experience and professional development, I assist clients dealing with parent/child relations, learning strategies, professional identity issues, stress management, self-esteem/confidence, anxiety, depression, ageing, loss, dying, death and grief.

My therapeutic training and approach involves the theories and techniques of: narrative therapy, emotion-focused therapy, relationship coaching and mindfulness-based practices.

Using the power of the therapeutic alliance and the art of asking strategic questions I aim to coax and guide clients toward realizing and living the change they are seeking. My primary therapeutic intent is to create a safe, open, engaging narrative space whereby clients can explore, edit and rewrite the stories of their lives.

If you have any questions, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. I can typically get back to you within 24 to 48 hours during the work week. Stress, Anxiety, Depression

Research shows that we experience both good and bad stress. Good stress gets us going, motivates us and helps us to be more creative while pursuing our goals. However, it is a fact of life that bad stress also occurs and anxiety and/or depression can set in. When bad stress happens, it is better to respond rather than react to it. Watch this short video to learn more about responding vs. reacting to stress and then contact Carol.

Grief and Loss

Love and loss are intricately tied. The grief that arises from loving and losing can throw one into a sea of emotional pain. Fortunately, these painful emotions also open one up to healthy, adaptive strategies that speak to the treasured stories we know and tell about our lost loved one. In this sense they live on through the stories we remember and tell about their precious life. Through telling those stories and rewriting them we can carry our loved one with us through life as we go forward. Watch this short video to find out more about living, loving, losing and rewriting the story of the life you and your love one shared and can continue to share and then contact Carol.

Change and Life Transitions

Our lives are always changing, growing and evolving. We’ve all heard the old saying, ‘The only constant in life is change’. Our bodies change over time. Our relationships change as they develop. Our careers/jobs change whether we want them to or not. Learning to make conscious choices and have the self-discipline to successfully transition during the life cycle involves being skillfully resilient and resourceful. If you are ready to make a friend of the inevitable changes in your life and go beyond striving or surviving to thriving then watch this short video and contact Carol.
